## What it is

NOVOS Vital is a multi-ingredient gummy supplement marketed for whole-body organ support, combining seven food-derived compounds: lutein and zeaxanthin (xanthophyll carotenoids concentrated in the retina and brain), nattokinase (a fibrinolytic enzyme from fermented soybeans/natto), inulin (a prebiotic fermentable fiber), apple cider vinegar (a source of acetic acid), rutin (a flavonoid), and trehalose (a disaccharide that can induce autophagy). Each ingredient acts through a distinct, well-characterized mechanism rather than a single shared pathway. The formulation is aimed at organs that commonly decline with age, including the eyes, brain, heart, kidneys, liver, muscles, and gut.

## Its role in longevity

The individual ingredients carry uneven levels of human evidence. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the best supported, with large trials (AREDS2) and RCTs linking them to eye and cognitive health, though some endpoints were null (the AREDS2 primary AMD endpoint and macular-pigment change in the LIMPIA trial). Nattokinase and vinegar/acetic acid show mixed results: a large 3-year RCT found no effect of nattokinase on subclinical atherosclerosis, while smaller trials and meta-analyses report modest blood-pressure reductions (a 2023 meta-analysis of six RCTs found about 3 mmHg systolic) and improved post-meal glucose; inulin has meta-analytic support for glycemic control in prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. Rutin and trehalose are supported mainly by mechanistic and preclinical (endothelial, autophagy) data, and trehalose - the formulation's flagship brain-health ingredient - was well tolerated but showed no efficacy in its largest human test to date, the HEALEY ALS platform trial. No trial has tested this exact seven-ingredient combination, and gummy doses may sit below studied doses, so benefits are inferred from each compound separately. This evidence describes the underlying compounds and mechanisms, not this specific commercial product.
