Patients with low HGS had a summary risk ratio of all-cause mortality of 1.88 compared to those with high HGS. For every 1-kg unit increase in HGS, the summary risk ratio of all-cause mortality was 0.95.

Low handgrip strength is associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis.
