Protocols of 20 to 30 minutes and pressures of about 80 mmHg were the most frequently used options for optimizing recovery.

Lower-limb IPC has potential effects for sports recovery, primarily by reducing perceived soreness.

## Limitations

The methodological quality of the included studies ranged from fair to good, and the effect on muscle damage markers was highly variable, suggesting inconsistencies or limited efficacy in this area.
