## The question

## Hypothesis

## Methods

Healthy older adults (n=54, aged 65-80 years) will be randomized into two intervention groups or a control/waiting group. Intervention groups will complete a 12-week balance and strength/power exercise intervention 3 times per week for 30 minutes per session. One intervention group will receive extensive supervised training, while the other will complete a home-based short version ('3 times 3') controlled by weekly phone calls. The control group will not receive an intervention during the experimental period. Measures of static/dynamic steady-state balance, proactive balance, reactive balance, strength, power, body composition, psychosocial well-being, cognition, and fall self-efficacy will be assessed at baseline, immediately post-intervention, and 12 weeks after program cessation to evaluate detraining effects.
