Before you start
Five minutes: a seven-question safety screen, your first measurements, and (if you want the weekly emails and a progress page) enrollment.
1 · The seven questions
Seven questions. Any 'yes' means: talk with your own clinician before you start, and bring this plan. Many people can begin with the chair track or a gentler pace once cleared.
- Has a doctor told you not to exercise, or that you have a heart condition that limits activity?
- Do you get chest pain, pressure, or unusual breathlessness with activity or at rest?
- Do you faint, black out, or get very dizzy with activity or when you stand up?
- Have you had a fall with injury, or two or more falls, in the past year?
- Do you have a bone, joint or back problem that gets worse with activity?
- Are you recovering from surgery, a hospital stay, or a new illness in the last three months?
- Do you have a condition your clinician is still working up, or blood pressure or blood sugar that is not under control?
2 · Your week-0 numbers
Open the Movement Lab and do the tests you can: the chair stand, single-leg stance, 4-meter walk and Timed Up & Go take about ten minutes with a chair, a hallway and a phone timer. Grip strength only if you own a dynamometer. Results are saved on this device; after you enroll, week 1 lets you copy them into your record with one click.
Do the tests rested, in the shoes you usually wear, with someone nearby the first time.
3 · Enroll for the weekly plan (optional)
Enrolling gives you one email a week with that week's plan and a private progress page. It also adds your results to the consented, de-identified registry — that is how the program gets counted. You can use the whole plan without enrolling.
The registry terms, in plain words
- What we store: your email, an age band, an optional sex field, your track, your five test results at weeks 0, 6 and 12, and six answers a week (walks, strength sessions, balance days, effort, pain yes/no, fall yes/no).
- Why: to send the weekly plan, and to count whether the program works. Results are reported only in aggregate (how many enrolled, finished, and improved). Your email is hashed for analysis.
- Who: Magellan Longevity LLC. No hospital, clinic or insurer is involved; this is not medical care and not a research study. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
- Your control: stop the emails with one click; withdraw from your progress page to delete your results and check-ins. Consent version 2026-09-28.v1.
- Where: a database with access limited to program functions; your record is reachable only with the private key in your browser and your emails. Details in the privacy policy.
