Magellan LongevityStronger for Longer
Week 6 of 12 ยท Build

Halfway re-test

Re-test the chair stand, single-leg stance and TUG once this week, rested, on the same chair and hallway. Then take the hands off for balance.

This week

  • Week-6 tests: chair stand, single-leg stance, TUG (in the Movement Lab, then record them on your progress page).
  • Strength A and B at stage 2.
  • Balance level 3 (hands off, support in reach) for stands; three longer sessions.
  • Five 25-minute walks.

Tip: Most people see the chair stand move first. If yours has not, check the lowering: three seconds down is where the strength is built.

๐Ÿšถ Walk

5 walks of 25 minutes โ€” about 125 minutes this week.

Five walks. Re-test week: do the chair stand, single-leg stance and TUG once this week, rested.

Moderate = talking, not singing.

๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Strength โ€” stage 2, Load

Two sessions: 2โ€“3 sets of 8โ€“12. Effort 6โ€“7 out of 10 โ€” three or four reps left.

Add a load (backpack with books, water jugs, bands, dumbbells) or move up a level. The last two reps of each set should feel like work.

All six: sit-to-stand, hip hinge, step-up, push, pull, heel raise & carry. Cues, levels and videos โ†’

๐Ÿง Balance โ€” level 3, Hands off

Arms crossed, no support, support within reach. Add the turn.

Daily set: tandem stand, single-leg stand, heel-to-toe walk, sideways walk, backward walk, weight shifts, toe raises, walk and turn. Three longer sessions this week.

Chair track this week: Graduate to the standard track when you can do five sit-to-stands without hands and stand unsupported for one minute. Details โ†’
