Editorial policy

Magellan Longevity is a storefront that grades what it sells. That is a structural conflict of interest, and pretending otherwise would be worse than having it. This page states the rules that keep the money out of the grading, lists every commercial relationship in plain language, and explains what happens when we get something wrong.

1. A commission never reorders a pick. Rankings and “best” selections are ordered by evidence grade and by the quality checks on the product, not by payout. If the best-evidenced option pays nothing, it still goes first.
2. A campaign never adds a compound. No ingredient, device or test enters the catalogue because a brand, a dispensary or an advertiser asked. Compounds enter because there is human literature to grade.
3. A sponsor cannot buy placement. Inclusion is never paid. There is no rate card, because there is nothing to sell. Display advertising is programmatic and separate from editorial; an advertiser buying an ad slot buys an ad slot.
4. The grade is set before the link. Evidence grades are assigned from the human and mechanistic literature; the commercial link is attached afterwards, to whatever the grade points at. The clearest proof is that the catalogue keeps a product graded “Tested — did not work”, with the trials that sank it quoted on the page.
5. We do not sell our own supplement line. There is no house brand, so there is never a bottle we are stuck defending.

Prices. Any price shown on a product page is indicative and can be out of date the moment it is published. The live price is whatever the retailer shows when you get there.

• No sponsored posts and no paid reviews. Nothing on this site is written to a brief supplied by a brand.
• No house supplement line.
• No paid consultations or coaching through this site. Paid coaching and consultation booking were retired on 29 July 2026 and the routes removed. Magellan does not sell clinical services, and reading this site does not create a doctor–patient relationship.
• No invented product links. Affiliate links resolve to a retailer search for the product name, never to a hand-written listing identifier that could later point at something else.
• No hiding the bad news. Null results, missed primary endpoints, industry funding and safety signals are printed on the product page itself, above the buy button.

Every outbound commercial link on this site is marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", which tells search engines and AI crawlers that the link is commercial. Every page carrying such a link also carries a plain-English disclosure in the footer, and the buy box itself says that Magellan earns a commission at no extra cost to you and that the commission does not affect the grade.

Disclosure is placed before the link, not buried at the bottom of the page, in line with the Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and affiliate advertising.

This is a wellness site, not a clinic. Content is written in structure-and-function language: what a compound does in the body and what the trials measured. Magellan does not claim that any product diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a disease, and does not use the word “cure”.

The hedging in the prose is deliberate and is not editorial cowardice. “Modest”, “short-term”, “in this population”, “missed its primary endpoint”, “industry-funded”, “association, not causation” — these qualifiers are the actual finding. Removing them would produce a cleaner page and a false one. Editors are instructed never to strengthen a hedge out of the copy.

Where the evidence is negative, the page says so. See the “Tested — did not work” grade.

Magellan is a database-backed site. 2,756 study records, 155 compound monographs and 130 product pages are assembled from a curated citation database, which is how every page can carry its primary sources. Automated assembly is used for layout and citation plumbing; it is not used to invent findings.

The rules that make that safe are strict: effect statements are quoted from a cited study rather than paraphrased, doses appear only where a verified studied range exists, and no page may contain a citation that is not in the database. Gabriel Radu, DO is the author of record and reviews the pages against their cited sources. Long-form articles, Tech Desk stories, buyer’s guides and every evidence caveat are written by him directly.

We will get things wrong. The literature also changes underneath us — that is the normal condition of an evidence site, not an excuse. When a page is wrong it is corrected, the correction is dated, and if the change affects an evidence grade it is written into the public log.
